Come come, whoever you are
Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving
It doesn’t matter
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
A diverse career and an adventurous spirit have taken Ella Harvey to remote regions of the world. She has lived on five continents and worked on four. Working as a nurse in a Cambodian refugee camp led to writing her first book: Encounters on the Front Line.
Ella’s second memoir, Shapes of Brave: To Asia, Africa, and the Long Way Home, explores the quests of a young woman, working in dire environments, chasing adventure, and seeking connection in unlikely places. In India, half a lifetime later, she reflects on solitude and friendship, longing and belonging, and finding her home in the world. Ella (formerly known as Elaine) presently lives in Victoria on the west coast of Canada.
